2020 Summer Runs

Come on out and get in some miles!

Let's go! It's time to getting running again! Please come join us as we come together again to run. It's always better to run with a group. These runs help you ease into running longer distances and see that you can run further than you think. And they kick start you for the cross country season. Not certain? Just come out and give it a try and then decide. Email pblakebrooker@gmail.com with questions or more info.

Who:   Anybody that wants to give distance running a try - that includes the first timers, the veteran runners, and the parents.
What:   Runs of increasing distance to help XC runners build their endurance before the season begins in late July.
When:   Every Saturday morning between now and the start of XC practices at 7:30 am
Jones State Forest - meet at the west parking lot off of FM 1488, it is in the northwest corner of the park and is across the street from Woodson's Local Tap & Kitchen; we may try other trails in the area during the summer
Bring:   PLENTY OF WATER, bug repellent, great attitude
Why:   "Why not!" said Mike Mulligan. Long runs are essential to building an effective base of endurance for cross country. The more people from the team that come to these runs, the better our team will do in the fall. Staying in shape over the summer means that we will be able to hit the ground running when official XC practice starts.
How:   By sheer determination. The runs will be supervised by myself, Coach Reeves or another parent. The program is absolutely FREE! Just show up ready to run!
